Climbing the Educational Ladder

With an aura of success in the air, graduates marched onto the James T. Brennan Memorial Field for what marked their final step in the Harborfields education ladder. Families, friends, teachers, administrators and staff gathered on June 26th to honor the graduating class of 2010 during their special commencement ceremony.

Appreciation for their education, their families, and their peers was a common theme among each of the speeches. With his head held high,Valedictorian Eliott Fell said “We owe those who run Harborfields a great deal of thanks; we truly appreciate everything you’ve done for us and as students, we have much to be proud of.”  Salutatorian Christopher Price echoed the sentiments. “This educational process was not about any piece of paper … but about obtaining an education that can change the world… The Class of 2010 title is an ever-present reminder that Harborfields has given us an understanding of life in a global society.”

In his closing remarks to students, Principal Dr. David Bennardo reflected on the four years he and fellow administrators have spent getting to know the class. “I wasn’t supposed to stare at a blank legal pad for two weeks, but I couldn’t find the words to describe how much you mean to us, ” he recounted. “For the past four years, you’ve inspired us … our lives and hearts have been intertwined forever.”
