Members of the Harborfields school community enthusiastically took part in the Walk for a Wish fundraising drive, which culminated in the Walk for a Wish on April 13 at Harborfields High School. The annual event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Through this fundraiser, the district has raised more than $91,000 over the course of the last six years, helping to make it possible for children’s wishes to be granted through the foundation.

All of the donations collected for the walk will be used to grant the wish of Talia, a child from neighboring Northport who struggles with a serious illness. The collective efforts of the community will allow for Talia and her family to take a trip to Disney World, something young Talia has always wanted to do.

This year’s fundraising drive raised a total of $21,565. Due to its overwhelming success, not only will Talia’s wish be granted, but other children’s wishes will be fulfilled as well.
