It was a fun day in Denise Sullivan’s class at Washington Drive Primary School on Jan. 16 as second graders proudly showed off their Pippi Longstocking and pirates costumes.

Half of the class, with their hair styled in wacky pigtails, dressed in overalls and rainbow-colored leggings, while the rest came equipped with bandanas and eye patches.

Students were given the option to dress as either character in celebration of finishing their chapter book, Pippi Longstocking, and enjoyed eating treats inspired by the book while watching the movie on Jan. 16.
