Harborfields High School DECA students were recently recognized by the district’s board of education for their outstanding performances at the 2020 Suffolk County Regional DECA Competition on Jan. 8.

At Suffolk County Community College, more than 1,000 students from across Suffolk County competed in various marketing, finance, communications and merchandising categories. There were nine regional finalists, two honorable mentions and one third place winner from Harborfields this year.

DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Most of Harborfields’ DECA students are in business-related classes, such as career awareness, college marketing and college accounting.
