On Feb. 12, the Harborfields High School Jazz Band welcomed trumpeter and vocalist Benny Benack to their school for a special workshop and clinic.

Mr. Benack came with trumpet, voice and experience in tow and spent three hours working with students. He discussed his background and path in music, performed for the band, rehearsed and critiqued the group's work and even joined in to play.

The world-renowned artist recently completed a European tour with viral YouTube sensation, Postmodern Jukebox, and just finished a multi-week run at New York's Cafe Carlyle with fashion mogul Isaac Mizrahi.

“It was a truly memorable experience that brought our students into direct contact with an incredible, and incredibly positive, music professional," Harborfields High School’s Music Department Coordinator Daniel Bilawsky said.
