Starting the 2010-11 School Year With Excitement and Smiles

On Tuesday, September 7, the Harborfields Central School District welcomed back students for the start of the 2010-11 school year. At Washington Drive Primary School, kindergarteners cautiously exited their school buses for the first time and were greeted by Principal Maureen Kelly and her staff. Following a warm welcome, the students were directed to their classrooms, where they settled in for their official start to primary school. Throughout the day, students engaged in activities geared at getting to know their teachers and classmates, as well as helping them to feel more comfortable in their new surroundings.

Students at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School, Oldfield Middle School, and Harborfields High School also spent the day settling into their new routines and reviewing course syllabi. Several classes received a surprise visit by Superintendent of Schools Frank Carasiti, who stopped by to offer his welcome and wishes for a successful school year.
