Congratulations to Harborfields High School senior Daniel White who recently earned a Silver Key award in the 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for his phenomenal photography skills.
Each year, nearly 340,000 students submit artwork and writing samples to the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers, which is made up of leaders in the visual and literary arts, as well as Scholastic Awards alumni. The submissions are then judged based on three core values: originality, technical skill and the emergence of personal voice or vision.
Daniel has had an artistic eye since a very young age – a talent and passion that he was eager to pursue as he got older. Currently, he is the lead photographer for the Greenlawn Civic Association. He is also a member of the high school’s interact club and serves as a rowing coach with the Long Island Rowing Club.
After graduation, Daniel is planning to study photography at University of Hartford in Connecticut.
