Students at Washington Drive Primary and Thomas J. Lahey Elementary Schools are showing their school spirit.

On April 1, Washington Drive students and teachers shared photos of themselves wearing Harborfields green in celebration of the school’s virtual spirit day.

Additionally, fourth graders in Jennifer Thompson’s class at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School participated in a virtual spirit week, starting with “Superhero Day” on March 30.

Each day, students celebrated their new journey of distant learning by dressing up with a different theme. On Monday, students dressed as farmers, doctors and pharmacists, recognizing the essential workers that are currently taking care of people during this crisis. Throughout the week the children sent Mrs. Thompson pictures through their virtual classroom, showing their amazing spirit. The week’s themes included School Color Day, Backwards Day, Jersey Day and Pajama Day.

“It has been keeping the class connected as a whole to not lose that bond that was created from September,” Mrs. Thompson said. “They are continuing to communicate with one another and always remembering their class motto of CRUT: cooperation, respect, understanding and trust – with this they all know that they will succeed during this time away from one another.”
