The Harborfields Central School District is proud to announce that senior scholar student athlete Gracie Heil was named the 'News 12, Bethpage Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week.”

This is a very prestigious award that is presented to only 30 scholar student athletes across Long Island. The scholarship award reflects Gracie's high academic success, as well as her stellar athletic talents as a leader of the girls' soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams. Gracie is also involved in a variety of activities both in the school and community.

Gracie will be featured on News 12 later this week and will be presented with a $1,000 scholarship as provided by the Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Congratulations to Gracie and her coaches Scott Wallace, Meaghan Smith and Jess Volpe.

John Valente, the district’s director of physical education, health athletics and health, medical services, described Gracie as a “terrific person,” calling her a “quintessential role model.”

“She is a superstar in every sense of the word,” Mr. Valente said. “This special award recognition for Gracie makes these troubling times much brighter as we continue to navigate life during this pandemic. It is young adults like Gracie that offer us hope that the future looks bright when these talented individuals are called upon to change the world.”
