While Memorial Day parades were out of the question this year, Harborfields' music department — specifically the Harborfields High School marching band and kickline team — maintain a steadfast commitment to serving the community and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Marching Band Director Allison Scilla and Kickline Director Jackie Best coordinated the effort to create Memorial Day performances from home. With the editing skills and efforts of Harborfields High School science teacher, Mike Khan, the acts were tied together. With an introduction from Ms. Scilla, students performed "Harborfields Will Win," "Tribute to America" and "Taps." The solo trumpet heard on "Taps" is that of high school senior Jared Buchholtz.

“One of the most special performances the marching band and kickline do every year is perform in our Memorial Day parades where we honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to this county,” Ms. Scilla said. “There is no parade for us to march in but we wanted to do something just the same. We sincerely hope that next year we are together again.”
