TJL Students Create Pinwheels for Peace

In late September, students in Ms. Laura Riekert’s art classes at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School created Pinwheels for Peace, in celebration of International Day of Peace on September 21. Pinwheels for Peace is a global movement that encourages students from across the world to make pinwheels on which they express their feelings about what is happening in the world.

This year marked the third year that Ms. Riekert participated in the project with her students. After students created their pinwheels, they planted them in front of the school as a symbol of their hope for peace. Pictured are some of Ms. Riekert’s students with their beautiful creations.
