Third Annual Read-a-Thon at OMS

Sixth-grade students at Oldfield Middle School participated in the third annual Literacy Committee Read-a-Thon. Students pledged to read a certain number of pages or for a certain amount of time between 8:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and gathered monetary donations based on their anticipated amount of reading.
Students spent the day in the school auditorium donning pajamas and equipped with their novel or e-reader. Lounging with pillows and blankets, in sleeping bags and on couches brought into the auditorium from the school library, students silently attempted to meet their reading goals.
