HS Senior Named Intel Semifinalist

Congratulations to Harborfields High School Senior Pam Wax who was named a Semifinalist in the 2011 Intel Science Talent Search. Pam was one of only 300 students out of 1,744 applicants  to be designated as an Intel Semifinalist. Pam’s project, entitled “Exploring the Dose-Dependent Activity of the Drosophila Fushi-tarazu (Ftz) Homeodomain Protein” has qualified her to compete for $1.25 million in awards. According to Superintendent Frank Carasiti, “Being named an Intel Semifinalist is an honor reserved for the best and brightest students in the entire country. The district congratulates Pam on this outstanding accomplishment!”
