In celebration of New York State’s Foreign Language Week, the foreign language department at Oldfield Middle School hosted a variety of activities for students. Each day was designated with a different theme, including American Day, Italian Day, French Day, Spanish Day and Heritage Day. Between periods, music specific to the culture of the day was played over the loudspeaker and food served in the cafeteria was also complementary to the specific theme. Additional activities included trivia contests, participating in a Merengue dance lessons, constructing the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower out of marshmallows and creating Mardi Gras and Carnevale masks.
