On Friday, March 21, Harborfields High School’s Global Justice Club, advised by Michelle DaSilva, will host their fourth annual concert featuring 24 musical acts from students and teachers throughout the community. All money raised from the event will be donated to the Magic Penny, an organization founded by former Harborfields High School music teacher Lucy Sumner. The Magic Penny provides financial support for educational programs in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

“We use this concert to showcase the incredible amount of talent in our high school and also to raise money to build schools for children in underprivileged countries,” said Iman Lee, president of the Global Justice Club. “Our main goal as a group is to raise awareness within the community about the social injustices that exist throughout the world. I believe the concert is our way of bringing the community together to understand and help those in need.”

Money raised through past Global Justice concerts was used to build a school in Ecuador. To find out more about the Magic Penny, visit www.themagicpenny.org.

The Global Justice concert will be held at 7 p.m. at Harborfields High School on March 21. Tickets are $10 and all community members are invited to attend.
