Students at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School are learning techniques to relax and focus through a 10-week yoga intramural program. Health and physical education teacher Susan Crispino conducts weekly yoga classes before school for interested students. In addition to the weekly sessions, Ms. Crispino also held yoga sessions prior to the New York State assessments. “Among its many health benefits, yoga is said to promote brain activity, reinforce good posture and increase concentration,” Ms. Crispino said.
