OMS Students Explore Possible Careers

Sixth and seventh-grade students at Oldfield Middle School participated in Career Day, during which they explored a variety of potential future careers. During the afternoon, 24 community members volunteered their time to speak to students about their career field and what skills are needed to do their jobs.
Students had the opportunity to each hear four different speakers during the afternoon and ask questions of them. Careers represented included aerospace technology, music, speech pathology, architects, and interior design, to name a few.
According to Oldfield Middle School Assistant Principal Jacquelin Allen, “It is through the generosity of the community volunteers that this day is possible.”
