The Center for American Progress recently listed the Harborfields Central School District as having a high return on educational investment (ROI), based on how much “learning” the district produces for every dollar it spends. Harborfields was rated in the top tier relative to other districts throughout New York State.

The Center for American Progress, an organization dedicated to “improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action” researched approximately 9,000 school districts throughout the country for its study. The Center evaluated spending data for each district, as well as achievement results. Those districts, such as a Harborfields that rated in the top third of achievement and the bottom third in spending, received a green rating by the Center, its highest possible designation.

According to Superintendent of Schools Frank Carasiti, “We are extremely proud of our district’s rating. This is a direct result of the hard work of our dedicated staff and the support of the community. The ongoing goal of the Board of Education and administration is to provide the best education possible for the students of Harborfields while minimizing the cost impact on our community.”
