Twelve student-athletes from Harborfields High School signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Parents, coaches and district administrators gathered to honor the students’ dedication and commitment and to celebrate their accomplishments.

“These students represent just two percent of high school athletes who have the opportunity to continue their sport on the collegiate level,” said John Valente, the district’s director of health, physical education and athletics. “While each of you is playing a different sport, you have some common traits and characteristics that you possess. These include dedication, commitment, hard work and time management.”

The students recognized were: Chelsea Abreu, Adelphi University, lacrosse; Cole Anderson, Stony Brook University, lacrosse; Connor Bennardo, Detroit Mercy University, lacrosse; Nicole Bifulco, Stony Brook University, lacrosse; Luke Cowden, George Washington University, swimming; Tristan Davis, Virginia Military Institute, lacrosse; Samantha Gray, Pace University, field hockey; Jamie Grossman, Boston University, track and field; Terrence Haggerty, Detroit Mercy University, lacrosse; Kyle Lumpe, LeMoyne University, lacrosse; Kevin O’Connor, Hofstra University, baseball; and Caroline Wallace, College of the Holy Cross, soccer.
