Scientific Excellence

Oldfield Middle School is proud to announce that Zoe Krief received first place overall in the school’s annual seventh-grade science fair.

With weeks of experimentation, Krief’s science project, “Regeneration of Planaria Exposed to Antioxidants and Fish Oil,” allowed her to analyze how planaria, a non-parasitic flatworm, regenerates after being cut in half and placed in a variety of different solutions.

“Maybe one day this type of research can lead to the regeneration of limbs to help people with birth deficiencies and who served in the military,” said Krief.
