Jazz Cabaret Night Honors Local Veterans

To honor the nation’s bravest, the district hosted its annual Jazz Cabaret Night on March 26, during which students and faculty members paid tribute to local veterans with a dinner and musical performances.

To kick off the evening, Harborfields High School seniors served more than 90 veterans and their invited guests a variety of entrees and refreshments. Thomas J. Lahey third-graders had contributed to the event by drawing pictures and writing cards to the veterans, which were displayed on each table.

Led by Clare Jackson, members of the high school’s voice ensemble performed “The Star-Spangled Banner,” among other musical selections. The high school instrumental jazz ensemble, under the direction of Daniel Bilawsky, also entertained with a variety of numbers.

“This event is our way of giving back to the members of our community who served and contributed to ensuring this country remains safe for everyone,” said Superintendent of Schools Diana Todaro.
