Three Oldfield Middle School students received exceptional rankings in the Town of Huntington’s 15th annual Huntington in Bloom Art Contest, held at the Heckscher  Museum of Art. Sixth-grader Lili Noah and eighth-grader Nina Bennardo won “Best in Grade” in the highly competitive contest, while seventh-grader Courtney Levy claimed second place.

Under the advisement of art teachers Melissa Goscinski and Drew Lockwood, these Harborfields students were among just three award recipients from each grade level in all of Huntington to be recognized. The “Best in Grade” award provides Oldfield Middle School with two $50 grants toward art supplies. Prints of the winning artwork are displayed in the front lobby of the middle school.

“As well as connecting them to their community, this experience helps students gain confidence in their abilities,” said Lockwood.

Congratulations to these students on their artistic accomplishments!
