To continue tradition, students entering the ninth-grade at Harborfields High School participated in the district’s Buddy Program as a way to become familiar with their new school building.

Members of the Harborfields High School facultyand administration began the
two-day orientation by greeting the incoming ninth-graders in the high school auditorium. During the evening event, Harborfields High School Principal Dr. Rory Manning advised parents and students about the new challenges, opportunities and expectations freshmen can anticipate during their next four years of high school.

The students were welcomed back the following day for the Buddy Program, in which upperclassmen volunteered their time to mentor the school’s newest members. The mentors answered the freshmen’s questions, gave their buddies building tours, and helped them find their lockers and classrooms.
