Sabrina Qi, a senior at Harborfields High School, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist and an Award of Merit recipient by the Long Island Arts Alliance.

Qi was among nearly 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. As a result of her high exam score, Qi, along with approximately 16,000 students, was designated a competition semifinalist. Advancing in the program, Qi will compete for a prestigious National Merit Scholarship, as well as college and corporate-sponsored scholarships.

In addition to her academic success, Qi was among 20 students to receive an Award of Merit from the Long Island Arts Alliance for her hard work, passion for the arts and scholastic achievements. Qi’s impressive application and talented dance abilities qualified her as an award recipient. On Sept. 9, she was honored at an LIAA awards reception at Half Hollow Hills East High School.

The district commends Sabrina on her academic and artistic accomplishments.
