In conjunction with the World Series, students at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School donated boxes of cereal while voting for the team they wanted to win the championship. From Oct. 28 through Nov. 3, students were directed to place their cereal boxes in shopping carts labeled with the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals team logos. Through their collective efforts, students and faculty collected 120 boxes of cereal, which were donated to the Harborfields Alliance for Community Outreach. Although the Mets did not win the World Series, they were the champions of the TJL World ‘Cereal’ Challenge.
