Seven Winners in the AMC 8 Contest

After participating in the American Mathematics Competitions 8, seven Oldfield Middle School students were awarded a gold, silver or bronze award certificate for their outstanding academic performance in the contest.
Back in November, students enrolled in the Common Core Algebra course were invited to stay an hour after school to participate in the AMC 8 contest. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple-choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. Participation in the AMC 8 contest can lead to other more selective math contests, such as the International Mathematical Olympiad, which is the premier international high school level mathematical problem-solving contest.
Congratulations to the following students for their exceptional scores on the exam: Aidan Cordero, first-place winner; Christian Harker, second-place winner; and third-place winners James Anderson, Caitlin Collins, Luciano Foranoce, Victoria Lanner and Michael Panariello.
