Incoming ninth-grade students at Harborfields High School recently had the opportunity to take advantage of the district’s Buddy Program as a way of familiarizing themselves with their new school building. As part of the program, upperclassmen at the high school volunteer their time to mentor the newest members to the school. The upperclass mentors answer freshman questions, give their buddies a tour of the building, and help them find their lockers and classrooms.

The entire daylong orientation program also included a welcome address by Principal Dr. David Bennardo and several presentations by assistant principals and fellow students. Topics for the presentations included time management and decision-making. The program concluded with a lunch celebration.
