Harborfields High School Safe Homes Program

The Harborfields High School PTSA would like to encourage all families to participate in the Safe Homes Program.

The use of alcohol and drugs by high school students is a major concern to parents and educators alike. Safe Homes was initiated as a national program to support and educate parents and children on substance and alcohol use and abuse. The program began at Harborfields High School in September 2000. As families joined Safe Homes, a membership list was developed and made available to those who signed up for the program. The list was utilized by parents to communicate with each other about issues concerning community school, or social events.

This program in nonjudgmental and not all families choose to enroll. The PTSA certainly respects their wishes. Our goal is to maintain safe social settings for our children.

Follow this link to join Safe Homes and to be included on the membership list.  By doing so you will be agreeing that you will not serve alcohol/drugs at your home and you will supervise any social gatherings that take place at your home. You are not required to volunteer or attend any meetings. This program is meant to support and encourage communication between parents.

If you were on this list in previous years, you must submit your name again to be included in the 2010-2011 data base.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
