Harborfields
SEPTA
The Special Education PTA (SEPTA) of the Harborfields School District is a PTA unit with an Executive Board of Officers that volunteer their time under the auspices of the New York State and National PTA. In collaboration with the Department of Special Education, SEPTA helps individuals and groups make a real difference for children with special needs and their parents. SEPTA represents children in grades K thru 12 that receive services under the umbrella of 'Special Education' in addition to children who are in the gifted and talented program.
Children that are classified in special education include but are not limited to children who have speech and other developmental delays, are learning disabled, multiply handicapped in areas of learning, may have an Attention Deficit Disorder or other neurologically based disorders, and children that are physically challenged.
