Students in Harborfields Central School District’s Extended School Year (ESY) program participated in a six-week summer program at Washington Drive Primary School through Aug. 21.
The program, available to eligible students in grades 1-5, provided opportunities for students to review and maintain progress in individualized academic, communication and social skills. It also introduced students to the new health and safety protocols and safe distancing practices that will be reinforced upon the reopening of schools in September.
“It was a great opportunity for our kids and staff this summer,” Director of Pupil Personnel Services Theresa McGuire said. “It was a successful and fun transition back to school for students and staff.”
