The Show Goes On At Harborfields High School

The week leading up to holiday break is typically a time of celebration for schools with concerts, plays and theater performances. This year, in keeping with tradition, Harborfields High School converted its annual fall production into a virtual experience for families and community members to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.

This year’s play, “Spoon River Anthology” was directed by high school music teachers Allison Scilla and Clare Jackson and was streamed live on Dec. 14. Faculty, staff and community members were invited to share photos of themselves, for a small donation, to fill the high school auditorium in place of audience members.

“We are so proud of these students who have put together a beautiful stage performance despite all of the restrictions and guidelines in place,” Ms. Scilla and Ms, Jackson wrote. “We are grateful to the administration and Board of Education for recognizing the importance of live theater and allowing the arts to thrive in spite of the challenges we are facing this year.”
