HHS Robotics and Science Olympiad Accomplishments

The Harborfields High School robotics team “At Least It Didn't Explode" recently won two first place medals at their qualifier. Their first medal was Best Performance for having the highest scoring robot. This earned them a spot in the Long Island Championship in April. The second medal was the Control Award for best integration of coding, sensors, and motors in their robot. The team members were Cameron Best, Colin Lysaght, Dylan Topolovec, Jacky Xie, and Orla Cummaford-Roberts.

Additionally, the school’s Science Olympiad students competed against 43 other teams in March and won the following medals:

  • 4th in Anatomy & Physiology: Luke Zhang & Chris Qi
  • 5th in Designer Genes: Andrew Palermo & Chris Qi
  • 10th in Fossils: Ashley Xie & Andrew Palermo
  • 5th in Chemistry Lab: Angeline Miraglia & Jacky Xie
  • 6th in Astronomy: Peter Carillion & Max Stratton
  • 5th in Geologic Mapping: Ryan Cook & Michael Considine
  • 10th in Ornithology: Peter Carillion & Jack Steel
  • 8th in Sound of Music: Nic Saliou & Max Stratton
