The Harborfields High School varsity softball team recently held a mental health awareness game to bring attention to the importance of mental health. During the game against Westhampton Beach, the Lady Tornadoes wore symbolic green shirts that read “Keep Talking,” encouraging people to destigmatize and discuss mental health. Additionally, the team decorated the field and raised money for a local mental health organization.

“Each day, mental health issues affect people of all ages,” Athletic Director John Valente said. “With sports, sometimes we tend to focus on scores and records and forget it’s the small things that our coaches and athletes do to make the world a better place for all of us.”
