Jenelle Bennardo, Jordan Conversano, Adelaide Kline and Carolena Purpura, four members of the varsity field hockey team at Harborfields High School, were recently recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as members of the first NFHCA High School Impact Senior Team. The students were nominated by coach Lauren Desiderio.

The NFHCA High School All-American Committee created the High School IMPACT Senior Team to recognize members of the graduating class of 2021 whose senior seasons may have been impacted by Covid-19 and to honor the entirety of senior athletes’ careers. Additionally, the award particularly recognizes an individual’s accomplishments on and off the field, their leadership and team achievement. Harborfields High School had the most 2020-21 NFHCA High School Impact Senior team honorees in the nation.

“After such a trying year, I am so proud of everything these exceptional athletes have been able to accomplish,” Lauren said.  “Carolena, Jenelle, Jordan and Adelaide are just four seniors out of 11 incredible seniors I was lucky enough to coach this past season. Leaders on the field and in the community, these players also volunteered significant time to a variety of causes, as well as being stars in the classroom.”
