Sets of Love and Warmth
For the third consecutive year, students at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School participated in Pajama Program’s ‘One Million Good Nights’ campaign, collecting sets of new pajamas for children in need.
Coordinated by third-grade teachers Cris Brooks and Enza LaSpisa, the school collectively gathered over 350 pairs of pajamas and dropped off the donated pajamas at Community Housing Innovations in Commack. In addition to the pajama drive, students wore their pajamas to school on Dec. 19 to celebrate the holidays with an assembly of festive music provided by Harborfields’s own talented teacher-musicians.
Pajama Program is a nonprofit organization that provides new books and new pajamas to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Since 2001, Pajama Program has donated over one million pajamas and books to children nationwide.
