As a culminating activity to the school’s “Green Week,” in conjunction with Earth Day, kindergarten, first- and second-grade students at Washington Drive Primary School participated in a singalong featuring songs related to protecting the environment on April 17.

Led by school’s music teacher Laura Pomerantz and coordinated by first-grade teacher Melissa Owen, students gathered in the cafeteria where they sat in a circle and sang songs such as “Mr. Sun,” “Grow, Grow, Grow,” “Inch by Inch” and “This Land is Your Land” to celebrate Earth Day. Students came to school dressed in green shirts and wore special handmade Green Week hats while they sang and used hand motions to accompany the songs.
