Julienne Saliou's swimming career gets better every season. The outstanding Harborfields High School sophomore swim phenom recently concluded the most impressive swim season that has ever been achieved by a Harborfields swimmer.
Julienne, who competed at the New York State Girls Swimming Championship last year as a freshman, returned again this year in Ithaca and left an indelible mark at this year’s swim championship. She finished in seventh place in the state’s 100-yard freestyle and ninth place in the 100-yard backstroke. She is the first swimmer in Harborfields girls swimming history to finish in the top 10 in New York State.
In addition to her dominant performance at the state level, the exceptional student athlete qualified for nine county events this past season and received All-League status for the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.  She placed second in the county championships in the 100-yard backstroke and was the County Champion in the 100-yard freestyle, earning her All-County titles in both. She also broke two school records.
Julienne has two more years to compete in her quest of becoming the first Harborfields New York State Individual Champion in a swim event.
