In conjunction with Dr. Seuss’ birthday and National Read Across America Day on March 2, the district’s youngest students celebrated the famous author’s birthday with various educational activities.
Students in Michelle Kasin’s PALS class at Washington Drive Primary School read “The Cat on the Hat” in unison, then created replica red and white hats from the book.

Coordinated by the reading department, students at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in a Dr. Seuss challenge, which included five quotes from different Dr. Seuss books. In addition, Assistant Principal Margy Greene read “Green Eggs and Ham” over the loudspeaker for the entire school to enjoy.
