Melina Sandel, a senior at Harborfields High School, was recognized for her work as the student representative for the board of education at their meeting on May 12. Melina was responsible for providing student-focused updates to the board at their monthly meetings, relaying pertinent information and fielding necessary questions from the members.
In addition to her role as the student representative, Melina is one of Harborfields' most well-rounded students. She serves on the student government, is involved with the robotics team, serves as a manager for the high school step team and is does photography for the yearbook and the Tornado News Team. Melina has committed to The University of Connecticut and plans to study either graphic design or UX.
The Harborfields School District and board of education extends their appreciation to Melina for all of her hard work and sends well wishes to her as she moves on to the chapter in her life.
