“Family Time” is the regular Wednesday night homework in Gale Ambrosio and Jacinta Pisano’s second grade class at Washington Drive, and a recent assignment, coinciding with National Be a Good Neighbor Day, was for students to create a stand of any kind with their family.
Student Lucas Risinger got his entire family involved, with his mother making lemonade and he and his siblings running the lemonade stand, which made $50. His father went to BJ’s Wholesale Club with the proceeds, obtaining snacks donated to school social worker Anna Zaharia’s snack closet and the Harborfields Alliance for Community Outreach.
