Eight exceptional Harborfields High School senior athletes signed national letters of intent to continue their playing careers in college. The celebration was held on March 8 in the high school auditorium.

Athena Braverman will play volleyball at Skidmore College, Lexi Huntington will play field hockey at Adelphi University, Maggie Keys will play field hockey at the University of Scranton, Gavin Lindkvist will play football at Ithaca College, Shane Longin will play football at Utica University, Sia Markowski will play lacrosse at the University of Tampa, Brogan Olson will play baseball at the University of New Haven and Aidan Terry will play football at Utica University.

“This is an exciting time for our student-athletes, and we are so proud of them,” Athletic Director Rob Franco said. “The hard work, time commitment and dedication it takes to get this opportunity isn’t easy. Not many students get to continue their playing career after high school, but we know that the skills they have learned here in Harborfields from their coaches and teachers have best prepared them for what lies ahead.”

Harborfields Class of 2015 alumna Caroline Wallace was the guest speaker for evening, talking to the athletes about what to expect in college and providing advice on how to succeed in college both academically and athletically.

After five years of varsity soccer in Harborfields, Wallace went on to play Division 1 soccer at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. At Holy Cross, she was a four-year starter and senior captain. In her final season at Holy Cross, Wallace earned a spot on the All-Patriot League Team as well as the All-New England Team. After graduation, she continued her soccer career overseas, signing a professional contract with Thonon Evian Football Club in France, until the COVID-19 pandemic brought her home in 2020. She now lives in New York City and works in consulting as an account executive.
