The Harborfields Central School District held its annual Jazz Cabaret Night for local veterans on March 29, honoring those who served and giving them the opportunity to talk about their service and reminisce. Following a dessert reception and welcoming remarks from Superintendent Dr. Rory Manning, the vets were treated to marvelous performances by Harborfields High School’s vocal ensemble, directed by Clare Jackson, and jazz band, directed by Dan Bilawsky.
“Our veterans have given so much of themselves to and for our country, so it was an honor to have the opportunity to play for them,” Bilawsky said. “It’s a small way to recognize their large sacrifices for the nation.”
“I join with the entire Harborfields community in coming together to show our appreciation to our veterans for their service to our nation,” Dr. Manning said. “Our students were honored to perform for them. It was a wonderful event that we look forward to each year.”
