Technology Department

Harborfields Central School District maintains a distinctive reputation for academic excellence coupled with technology-rich learning environments that facilitates the development of student learning strategies, sustains student academic mastery and prepares Harborfields graduates for college and career.


Student Access

All students K-12 have an individual district login account to use district computers and each can personally maintain up to 25MBs of server disk space. Students have access to network resources, and develop a portfolio of their work that is stored digitally on district servers and may be accessed from any school computer.  As a G-Suite School, all Harborfields students have access to a full compliment of Google tools for education including unlimited cloud storage in Google Drive, Google Classroom, and Google Docs.  Students can access these tools from any device that is connected to the internet.  



All the libraries are fully automated using Follett Library Automation software. Networked computers are used for the Online Public Access Catalogs, circulation and cataloging. All libraries have monochrome printing and color laser printing are also available in each library or adjoining computer lab.


Classroom Technology

The Harborfields Central School District's 1:1 Chromebook initiative currently spans grades 6-12.  The district is working to provide every student in grades 3-5 access to a Chromebook while in school during the 2020-2021 school year.  This program will be expanded to include students in grades K-2 starting in the 2021-2022 school year.  All K- 5 classrooms have networked computers and a shared printer. Each 6-12 grade level classrooms have at least 1-networked computer and an printer. All our schools have computer labs that average 30 workstations and have both a monochrome and color high capacity laser printer.
