Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School principal Mary Williams and select students unveiled their No Place for Hate committee plans for the 2022-2023 school year to the Harborfields Central School District Board of Education and central administration during the Feb. 15 meeting. Williams noted that the school now has 47 committee members on the No Place for Hate Committee.
“Even though we have 47 members, this committee is a schoolwide commitment that all district students benefit from,” Williams said.
Each attending committee student-member spoke about the four projects planned for the year, which included an Identity Based Bullying/Connecting Across All Grades, Birthday Wishes partnership with a San Diego Jewish School, Music/Community and Sense of Belonging and Art/Butterfly projects.
