Samantha Little’s fourth-grade class at Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School recently earned a reward for a camping day. Each student had a “tent.” They colored in a camping scene and then wrote spooky stories to share. They made s’mores using solar energy, engineering their own solar oven to heat their tasty treats. The fourth graders also painted pet rocks, created an “All About My Pet Rock” worksheet and kept their “pets” with them during the day.
“The kids had a great time,” Little said.
