Tucked along the north shore of Long Island, about 41 miles east of New York City, the Harborfields Central School District brings together residents of Centerport, Greenlawn, and part of Huntington. Business and professional residents comprise a majority of this predominantly middle and upper middle class socioeconomic area that includes a population of approximately 20,000.The name Harborfields is derived from a combination of the older names of Centerport (Little Cow Harbor) and Greenlawn (Old Fields).
