All students K-12 have an individual district login account to use district computers, and have their own personal network drives. Students have access to network resources, and develop a portfolio of their work that is stored digitally on district servers and may be accessed from any school computer. As a Google Workspace School, all Harborfields students have access to a full complement of Google tools for education, including cloud storage in Google Drive and Google Classroom. Students can access these tools from any device that is connected to the internet.
All the libraries are fully automated using Follett Library Automation software. Networked computers are used for the Online Public Access Catalogs, circulation and cataloging. All libraries have monochrome printing and color laser printing are also available in each library or adjoining computer lab.
The Harborfields Central School District's 1:1 Chromebook initiative currently spans grades K-12. Secondary students have a 1:1 device that they take back and forth between home and school. Our K-5 students each have an assigned Chromebook, however these are kept on carts within each classroom. All K-12 classrooms have at least one networked computer and a printer. Our elementary schools and middle school have Chromebox labs, while our high school has Windows and Mac labs with an average of 30 workstations and both monochrome and color high-capacity laser printers.
