HHS Musicians Shine at LIU Post Band Festival

Over the course of three nights, Ms. Scilla and seven musicians from the Harborfields High School Wind Ensemble participated in the 17th LIU Post Band Festival.
This honor band event features the top high school musicians from Nassau and Suffolk County. Students are nominated by their band directors and the selected students gather for rehearsals that culminate in a concert at the Tilles Center. This year’s LIU Post Band Festival selectees were Marty Bernstein on Trombone, Kyleigh Connors on Trumpet, Anna Dezlic on Flute, Jacob Guzzardo on Alto Saxophone, Hartley Semmes on Trumpet, Andrew Walden on Trombone, and Ethan Wisoky on French Horn. The guest conductor/composer for this year’s festival was the esteemed Randall Standridge.
“Our students are extremely familiar with Mr. Standridge’s work, having performed several of his pieces of music over the course of their years in the Harborfields band program,” said Ms. Scilla, HHS Band Director. This was an incredible experience for everyone and something they'll never forget.”
