Harborfields Central School District Celebrates Prestigious Blue Ribbon Recognition

Harborfields High School recently earned the prestigious National Blue Ribbon designation, a mark of excellence that highlights outstanding academic achievement and school performance. The Harborfields Central School District celebrated the honor at the Board of Education meeting on November 19, despite the federal program’s cancellation.
The recognition was marked by a series of awards and proclamations. The celebration began with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition signed by Congressman Nick LaLota, followed by a Proclamation from New York State Senator Mario Mattera. The district also received New York State Assembly Citations from Assemblymembers Steve Stern and Keith Brown. Adding to the statewide accolades, New York State Regent Felicia Thomas-Williams attended the meeting in person to present a special Certificate of Recognition, praising the dedication and hard work of students and faculty.
The Town of Huntington also recognized the accomplishment with a proclamation, presented by Councilman Dave Bennardo on behalf of Supervisor Edmund J. Smyth and the Town Board. Dr. Bennardo shared what a special recognition this is for all members of the Harborfields community, himself included.
Superintendent Dr. Manning presented Principal Dr. Farrelly with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Harborfields Board of Education, commemorating the school’s collective effort and success.
“This recognition reflects years of dedicated effort by faculty, staff, students, families, district leadership, and community partners,” said Dr. Farrelly. “Excellence was already embedded in the fabric of this school long before I arrived, and I am honored to celebrate this milestone with our community.”
The celebration concluded with a joyful moment as Dr. Manning cut a cake and invited attendees with a connection to the high school to join for a group photo, marking a memorable evening of pride and achievement for the entire Harborfields community.
