OMS Robotics Rules
While most families were enjoying the mid-winter recess, the OMS Robotics teams were competing in the First Lego League Qualifiers. And for the first time, OMS entered four teams into the competition. Here’s how the weekend shaped up:
- HF Tornadoes, our rookie team, earned the Core Values Award for outstanding teamwork and camaraderie.
- The Collaborative Crew took home the Innovation Award for their creative problem-solving.
- OMS Tornadoes battled tough competition and climbed to sixth on the leaderboard.
- Harborfields Tornadoes wowed judges with an impressive archaeological dig model, complete with a working remote-controlled rover and homemade metal detector! They were the runner-up for the Innovation Award.
All teams showed creativity, collaboration, and commitment, and because of it two of the four are headed to the Long Island Championship on March 9! Congratulations to all the participants and advisors and best of luck to the HF Tornadoes and Harborfields Tornadoes in the next round of competition!
